Waterbury also nicknamed as Brass City is a US city in Connecticut on the Naugatuck River. It is 33 miles southwest of Hartford and 77 miles northeast of New York City. The city got its nickname from the fact that it was a leading centre in US for the manufacture of brassware in 19th century. It was also called the “Brass Capital of the World”. Another famous product, the city was also known for Robert H. Ingersoll’s one-dollar pocket watch.
The city Waterbury is home to Post University and regional campuses of the University of Connecticut, University of Bridgeport, Western Connecticut State University as well as Naugatuck Valley Community College.
